Quiverfull is a fundamentalist Christian movement that believes children are a gift from god, so they don't use birth control and they they actually try to have as many children as possible. The Duggar family is the most famous of its advocates www.duggarfamily.com/
Honestly I don't think if they where white they'd be much better off. If they where white and knew how to work the publicity machine then maybe. The people with money who hate blacks tend to hate poor people in general.
I'm curious as to her reasons for having so many children, even 3 children is a massive drain on time and resources, I can't imagine how much effort is required to raise 12 children.
My cousin (an extremely intelligent fellow who was his class's valedictorian and later graduated from MIT but had the singular misfortune to grow up in an absurdly conservative household) linked to this article on his facebook page as an example of an "objective discourse" on the causes of pedophilia among catholic priests and why allowing priests to marry isn't a good solution: http://www.crosslandfoundation.org/catholicscandals.htm
It starts off decent enough, I guess, but soon the author is ranting about the different gender's "spheres of influence" (an idea I thought had been abandoned some time in the 19th century) and gay-bashing. I really have no idea how anyone could consider this at all balanced.
My favorite part is this:
Further, and worse, the mere fact of [allowing priests to marry] would encourage those in the Catholic Church who also want women priests and homosexual marriages.
Out beyond the hull, mucoid strings of non-baryonic matter streamed past like Christ's blood in the firmament.

I'm not sure why a woman christian would want to be one, it's actually pretty clear in the bible that women aren't even allowed in a church.
Oh, women are allowed, as long as they don't talk and keep their head covered and not on their period.
Boy, those early Christians, so much ahead of their time when it came to equal rights...

You know the head covered thing was only because the only women that went around bare-headed were prostitutes. That passage is more about not literally dressing like a whore, not hats.

Thanks for clearing that up! Glad to know that the head-covering stuff is less sexist than it might appear!
Pity Paul's such a raging sexist dumbfuck about the 'remain silent' and 'man is the head of woman' bits though.

After all, staffing unskilled workers with no training into a boom industry worked so well for the insulation scheme, amirite??!?!
What a retard. I hope he catches herpes.
Abbot seems to be trying to piss off big business with this and the huge paid maternity leave scheme paid for with business taxes. At the moment Australian politics is about pissing off your own supporters, see Labour pissing of the unions by selling public assets in Queensland or the internet filter at the federal level.
w00t! Transhumanism here we come! Just the matter of gaining a fuller understanding of causes and controls concerning the apoptosis and we'll be regenerating hands and faces up in this bitch.
Between this and the IGF-1 research from over a decade ago we could be seeing an enormous increase in both quality and length of life within our lifetimes. Neat.

That stuff was around before Paul said it, he was only saying it again. It was literally against the law for women and beardless men to approach the altar of God.
There really is apparently some alternate reality that Republicans live in, isn't there?

There might as well be.
They interpret the world in a vastly different way and have such a hugely different way to see it.
It's down to indoctrination, I guess.
If you're raised around, say, the far-right religious nut crowd, and grow up there, and don't ever associate with people who aren't like you, that leaves you very unprepared for the real world and colors how you see everything.

Sometimes I agree with the Daily Beast and sometimes I don't. But to be honest, I cannot for the life of me understand what the fuck the methodology of that article is or what they are attempting to show. I mean, don't get me wrong: Fresno is a hellhole. Just ask K: nothing good has ever come from Fresno. But while it does have an abysmally low college completion rate for California, it's still better than say, West Virgina.

That particular policy doesn't matter to business either way aside from the probable increase in homelessness and crime in perth caused by deporting a bunch of people to the most expensive city in australia, they don't actually have to employ them, so they won't.
